ABOUT

The Traveling Blog is not essentially about traveling to a destination and blogging about it. Let me try to explain it to you. The idea came to me when I thought about the movie The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants. You have to admit, it was a good movie. The fact that a pair of jeans was shared between four girls off all different sizes inspired me. Can some tell me where I can get a pair that fits my best friend and me like that?!

In my situation, I had recently moved out of state and left all my family and friends to live in a new state where I have never been and only know two people. It has been very hard to make friends here and it is not because I am mean or picky, but they simply do not stick around. Getting a boyfriend in a new state was easier than trying to make a friend! Back home, I still had all my close friends and family members who I would talk to which was honestly hard for me at times. I missed them so much. It has taken a while for me to muster up the courage to even think about making a blog. All these thoughts were swimming in my head, none of them were good which was the problem I always had; I was such a Negative Nelly. All I was thinking about was: "who would even read my blog? No one cares. I should be in college not writing about lame things. Will my friends write with me? Do they even like to write?" Any excuse I could make up kept me from initiating anything.

Then, out of nowhere, I was inspired to try. If not now, when? I started asking a few friends and got things going, but it didn't work out. It was unorganized and almost like dealing with a bunch of high school drama; I was discouraged and decided maybe it wasn't for me. Maybe I jumped in too fast? Even while I was down I still felt like writing so I said "this is what I want to do and I am going to do it!" So I took charge and reached out to my friends and family and asked who would be interested in blogging with me. Wildly enough, almost every single person I asked agreed! The people who politely declined at that time said they had a lot going on, but would be interested in the future, which was still so great to hear. With an overwhelming amount of people, I became so motivated and positive about creating the blog.

Taking it quite seriously, I didn't sleep some nights at all. I was too excited so I would stay up all night editing, helping people, organizing our social media, and even writing more posts. What this blog has come to is a blog that travels to and from people's experiences. Each and every single post is different, unique, and written by someone who wants to share something. Whether it is an opinion, recipe, story, poetry, their favorite things, or even their favorite pictures. This blog is traveling from one person to you, the reader.

Thank you so much for visiting OUR page. We are happy that you are here.

With love,
Michelle and every one from The Traveling Blog
